Anti-A.I. Commitment

The Steady Read does not believe in using artificial intelligence to generate content, create images/icons, or abuse the low-effort nature of machine-made content for potential profit, increased output, and website traffic.

All content on The Steady Read is entirely man-made. This means ideas are drafted and proofread until ready, and the occasional blemish of a typo should affirm that to anyone with doubts. Any rare instances of artificial intelligence writing will display in a pre-formatted manner to distinguish it:

This is an example of A.I. writing.

Instances of clearly marked artificially generated text will only be used in relevant posts that seek to explore A.I. and its relation to blogging, books, and the wider world of writing. In these cases, it is an exploration of how A.I. responds to prompts, rather than prompting it to generate an entire post. You will always know when any piece of text has been generated through this visual, font-based indicator.

Rest assured, the founder of The Steady Read is strongly against the overuse of artificial intelligence, and begrudges its commonplace status and shoehorning into everyday devices and platforms. In the world of content writing, it is killing jobs, stifling creativity, encouraging downsizing, slashing deadlines, and only benefitting those who reap the profits.

Let’s keep blogging a human thing, not an effort-free machine sweatshop that regurgitates the hard work and research of others. The avoidance of A.I., and full disclosure in the rare cases it is used, is The Steady Read’s pledge to you as a reader.
