Book of the Week #34

|

I have made my love for both short stories and Japanese fiction rather obvious here on The Steady Read. So, logically, it makes sense that the The Book of Tokyo: A City in Short Fiction has been on my radar for almost two years now.

Containing short stories written by nine different Japanese authors, this collection provides its readers with a series of bizarre and unique tales all set in Tokyo City. The overall length is rather compact at ~220 pages, so most stories are probably only a dozen pages long.

I look forward to picking it up some day. In fact, this was one of the first short story compilations I ever noted on my TBR way back in early 2023. It is definitely worth checking out if you enjoy short and quirky fiction, Japanese fiction, or works by any of the contributing authors.
