Book of the Week #37

Do you ever say, ‘Yes, I want to the read that book’ solely because of how aesthetically pleasing its cover is? Well, that’s what Sang Young Park’s Love in the Big City is for me.

It seems to be an energetic novel that centres on the Korean city of Seoul, particularly its bright and lively nightlife, and the eventual hazy aftermath of a night of fun. It seems to be attempting to appeal to the thrill seeking and sleazy nature of outgoing university students, so it may be right up your alley if you are in your early twenties.

Truthfully, it’s not the sort of novel that I would seek out, but I think its a good glimpse into an author’s view of youthful nightlife in Asia. Besides, that cover is gorgeous…
