I’m quite the fan of comedian Paul Whitehouse, and Bob Mortimer is fairly tolerable (if a bit more hit and miss with his jokes). However, the two of them make quite an amusing pair on their long-running show Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing.
Naturally, I’d like to see what the two write about following their lives being shaken up by shared heart conditions, with this comedic memoir-type book.
The British duo often touch upon many aspects of life, from the most trivial of topics to some rather heartfelt memories and experiences they both hold onto as they navigate their health and gradual march towards becoming old men.
As for how well this book will stack up against the sweet and sour balance of the television series, I can’t say. Hence, I need to read it, and would recommend you consider doing so as well. Alternatively, you can always just watch the first series and establish whether or not you like the pair’s chemistry before you consider buying their companion piece, so to speak.
